Dust Collectors

A friend of mine has brought me a couple times to her girlfriend's Dust Collectors Group.
What's that you ask?
A bunch of ladies bring their box(es) of D.I. stuff to a girlfriend's house. Husbands and children are discouraged from attending. Everyone takes a turn with their box, showing off their junk. It's good to be a salesman with your junk.  All the ladies in the room can then take anything they want for FREE. No fighting, please. (Well a little squabble here and there makes the night more fun.)
Curtains on rods, toys, husband's clothes, holiday items, candles, lotions, baby stuff, books, gifts from others you never liked, dishes, paintings, shoes, Used things, New things whatever, anything goes.
You eat treats, of course. The hostess takes the unwanted items to D.I. or any donation place like the Salvation Army, and she can get a tax write-off.
Try it with your girlfriends. You will get rid of your junk and come back with marvelous things for your family. A good rule of thumb, try not to come back with more than you got rid of. Here's what I got at my recent dust collector's night:
A princess book for Lindy & Summer Sandals for Tate
A Kid's rolling suitcase for Tate, A purse for me!
Mixing Bowls
A Thermos

What a fabulous idea, funsy! About how many ladies showed up?

Anywhere from 7-15+.

A smaller crowd makes the night go faster.
Sometimes it can get long. If you think you will have a big crowd limit to only 1 box per person.

Sounds like fun. Stephanie has been talking about doing this. We should do it!
