Romantic Songs

The movie Houseboat with Cary Grant and Sophia Loren is
one of my favorites.

I love when they dance to this song in the movie

La Vie En Rose is another favorite song that I like to listen to.

Secret Hideaway

I love finding and taking my kids to secret hideaways.
I call them secret hideaways,
because they are usually hidden in some trees.
We can hang out, read, and relax there,
and forget our cares for a while.

One of my new favorite songs, Catch and Release
by Matt Simons includes these lyrics
that perfectly captures how I feel about our secret hideaways,

"There's a place I go to,
where no one knows me,
it's not lonely,
it's a necessary thing."

A few years ago I posted about a
Secret Hideaway, from our last home.
Here's that blog post for a trip to the past - 5 years ago!
I kinda look the same because I had short hair in that post.
My kids, DO NOT, they are so young,
and we didn't even have Brandon yet.

An Easy Christmas Kid Craft, Christmas music, and a Christmas Video

Brandon is working on this craft today.
Inspiration found here.

My favorite Christmas music this season is this album:

I like song #'s: 1,3,4,7,11 and 12.

We watched and talked about this video:

for our Family Home Evening,
and our trying to do a little something
each day to share the gift.
Just small acts of service:
a smile, a compliment, a thank you, etc.

With raising a family,
I can feel inadequate at times.
Not doing enough here or there.
I just do the best I can,
even in small ways.
A video, some music, a craft.

Thank You, Celine!

When I'm bussin' my kids around town in our car, my kids can get VERY LOUD.

I like to crank up the music in the car.

It's ironic, that I would want more noise,
but the music helps drown out ALL the noises going on behind me.

My recent cd I love to blast around town is:

Celine Dion's

I can really blast that cd and sing loud with it.

It drowns the kids out great,
and it's great therapy for me to SING loud in the car.

Thank you, Celine.
Divas can be good for some things!

Of Monsters and Men

This is my new favorite album I've been listening to over and over.
They are a group from Iceland with great vocals.
It's a little folksy, but it's upbeat and they sound great.

I love the songs on this album:
Sloom and Love, Love, Love

Music, A Movie, and A Talk

I've hit the repeat button on these 3 songs recently:
The lyrics don't have any particular meaning to me, I just love how they sound.
That, Adele, what a voice.
Love Comes Tumbling Down by Matt Nathanson

Someone Like You by Adele

Every Teardrop is a Waterfall by ColdPlay

The new Jane Eyre movie.
They got it right.
Really loved it.
There is a great scene in the movie when
Mr. Rochester is talking and getting to know Jane.
He is talking too poetically and intensely.
She tells him, honestly, something like, "I don't know what you are talking about."
He asks "Do I frighten you?"
She responds, "No, I just don't like nonsense."
It's so great, makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Did you hear Pres. Uchtdorf's talk yet?
It is another classic.
So great, really great.
Pres. Uchtdorf did it again. He does it every time.
Just what we all needed to hear.
People are talking about his Forget Me Not 5 Flower message,
but I loved the Golden Ticket message even more.
Be happy now, eat and enjoy your chocolate, don't worry so much about the golden ticket.
You'll have to listen to the talk to know what I'm talking about.

For Steven

Congratulations Steven!!
My brother, Steven just got accepted to College. He loves music and I thought he would like to hear about this music site I heard about on the web.  It is www.pandora.com
You go to the site, register for free, you give them your email, it takes less than 30 sec.
Then a rectangle pops up and you type in a song or music group you like. Then it starts to play that song/music and others just like it. There are thumbs up and down to let them know if you like that song or not.  Mom and Dad would like it too. You can put in any kind of music, classical, mormon tabernacle choir, etc. Anything you like. It's all free! It will play for a long time if you like. Have Fun Steven, Enjoy!  (P.S. You've might have already heard about it, I'm out of it when it comes to these cool things.)
