Tate the Great turns 8

We celebrated Tate's b-day this year on the Oregon Coast!
It was a beautiful weekend.
Tate requested omelettes for his b-day dinner.
He got a dinosaur lego set, a new book, and a giant magnifying glass.

8 great things about Tate:
1. He likes going to school everyday.
2. He's excited about his new scriptures,
he wanted us to mark his favorite story about David & Goliath.
3. He likes building & creating things with his hands.
4. He'll read you a poem every week, if you'd like.
5. He's learning how to read.
6. He's patient with his brother Brandon.
7. He likes things to be just right.
8. He keeps our family entertained with his ideas.

The next weekend, he was baptized.
It was a beautiful weekend for his baptism too!

Here is Tate with his grandpa, my dad and his great grandpa Ricks who's 90!
What a treat to have his great grandpa there.

We're so grateful for Tate's willingness to be baptized,
and we're grateful for our extended families who came for his baptism.

When Tate got home from school his first day of having the Holy Ghost,
I asked Tate if he could feel a difference.
He said, "YES!"

Kyle was baptized!

Our family had a special day in November when our 2nd child, Kyle, was baptized.
The best part about the day, for me as a mother, was his excitement.
I know, sometimes, not every kid is excited about their upcoming baptism.
But Kyle was. He could hardly sleep the night before.

Favorite Primary Song:

Favorite Scripture Story:
Ammon, when he cuts off the bad guys arms.

We had to take a picture of the GINORMOUS pizza
we used to feed everyone after the baptism.
Very fun!
I love Lindy's expression showing us the enormity of the pizza.
It was double, triple the size of most extra large pizzas.
I'm not sure this photo even shows how large it really was.

It was a great day and we all had a nice time.

Congratulations, Kyle!
We are proud of your decision to be baptized.

Family Pictures from Last Week

Chris' B-day Cake. Cookies!!!
My nephew Spencer was baptized over the weekend.  Many family and friends came to support Spencer for his special occasion. Half the chapel left to witness his baptism. I'm so proud of the great influence Spencer has on so many people. I think his parents deserve congratulations too. Great job to Jeremy and Molly. (You can go to Molly's blog for more of the baptism)

We all had a meal at Spencer's house after his baptism. This is some of the kids in Spencer's backyard. (Another great backyard toy, that gets lots and lots of use.)
The meal was delicious. Great job Molly for the menu and all those who added their dish.
Sadie had her 1st b-day over the weekend, too. In fact, at about the same hour as Spencer was baptized, a year earlier Sadie was born. Molly was in the delivery room with me, little did we know a year later to the day and hour, we would be witnessing the special occasion of her oldest son's baptism.
She got a little puppy dog that barks, yelps, and wags it's tail. It delighted her. She giggled and squealed. I couldn't help but post lots of pictures of her enjoying her new dog. He makes a nice pet for the whole family. He is a toy. Perfect!
P.S. I took more pictures of the fam hangin' out for Sadie's b-day. But everyone panicked that they would be on the blog. My dad, especially, declaring that the whole world would see photos of him. I was complimented that he thought the world was reading my blog. In kindness to my family I left those pictures out; since, the whole word is reading my blog.
