My Grandma - Evelyn

My grandma passed away last weekend.
She was 87, soon to be 88 in July. She died of causes natural to her age,
it was expected,
and still. . .
a surprise to those who cared for her in the end.
My grandma visiting my sister Molly and I at college.
Their 50th wedding anniversary.
My grandparents were married close to 60 years and were sealed in the temple
My grandma with me when I was about 2 or 3
There is still much I would like to know about my grandma. But, I know she knew what mattered most in this life, and attended to those things faithfully her whole life.
Her Latter-Day Saint faith and her family.
For that I will always be grateful for and love her.
Some of my memories of my grandma are:
  • Her good cooking
  • Her organ playing and letting us play the organ
  • Her fun house with all the stairs
  • Her sewing skills making us matching pj's for Christmas one year
  • Visiting the Christmas tree farm and being attacked by geese
  • Her beautiful yard and landscape, it was delightful
  • Her garden, the lizard running up her leg
  • Her Oil of Olay lotions
  • Her hair with feathered wings on each side
  • The grab bag, and tea parties
  • Her innocence and desire to choose the right
