Oh, Well

This was supposed to me my office space.

The kids have completely taken over.

It's their office.

I ask them where a pen is and they tell me.

"Where's the scotch tape?", I plead.

"Over here, mom", they say.

"Can I use my computer?", I beg.

"No, it's still my turn.", they say.

"I really need the calculator", I tell them.

"Oh, we lost that a long time ago.", they say.

"Oh well, I guess I'll go work in the kitchen some more",

I say out loud to no one who is listening.

Over time I have come to realize that

my office space is the kitchen and the laundry room.

I have officially surrendered.

Which truth be told; my office looks just as messy as their mess.
