Part II Answers to questions to ask your Mother Also Dedicated to Kathy

I was able to visit with my mom last weekend. I asked her the following questions. Here are her answers:
  1. What's the one thing you would have done differently as a mom? Read more to my children, Encouraged good reading skills, enjoyed my kids more
  2. Why did you choose to be with my father? He was spiritual & mature, these qualities stood out from the other guys she was getting to know at the time
  3. In what ways do you think I'm like you? We both like to analyze and answer these types of questions And not like you? She thinks I'm less fussy and more relaxed about things than she is
  4. Which one of us kids did you like the best? She didn't have a favorite, She likes each of her kids for different reasons. Each of her children has strengths that she enjoys and appreciates. She felt her own mother didn't have a favorite, and appreciated that quality about her own mother.
  5. Is there anything you have always wanted to tell me but never have? No
  6. Do you think it's easier or harder to be a mother now than when you were raising our family? Both, some things are easier and some things are harder. Disposable diapers-easier, The bad things kids are exposed to-harder
  7. Is there anything you regret not having asked your parents? No, couldn't think of anything
  8. What's the best thing I can do for you right now? Stay true to my covenants
  9. Is there anything that you wish had been different between us-or that you would still like to change? Would like to have been more affectionate and told me she loved me more
  10. When did you realize you were no longer a child? At college

interesting. I wonder if some of her answers would change depending on which kid she was talking to!

You will have to ask her to find out.

Thanks, Katie! I loved it! But she really can't think of anything she wished she'd asked our Mom? And just for the record, I was Mom's favorite! (I guess she did a good job of hiding that from you, Becky!) Ha, ha!
