Taking the whole weekend in perspective, though, I think they learned we value general conference and we listen when the prophet and church leaders speak. I felt I was able to listen to most of the talks, and I think the children had fun hanging out as a family over the weekend.
Things I remember about conf:
- Provident Living
- The Pride Cycle
- President Monson requesting we pray for him, Sun pm session.
- An overall sense for me to be cheerful, happier, joyful even amongst times we live in.
- Getting to the temple, making it a prayerful, regular, sacred part of my life -Elder Bednar
- Missionary Work
- Elder Holland's talk about the Savior's last week, his loneliness
- Elder Scott, sharing about the loss of his wife, and especially the stories of losing his two young children
- Pres. Monson's story of the young mother with 4 children, all my 4 children's ages. Her long, cold winter's walk, where death seemed to be her only companion. He gave that talk, Sun. a.m.
