A 2nd way to fake having it all together

1st way of faking having it all together.

2nd: Have a blog, and then post about your laundry system.

I feel I have misled all of you with my laundry post.

My laundry is not done, the house is a mess, it is way past 10 pm on a school night and the kids are still being loud upstairs, nothing on my to-do list is ever done, and I so DO NOT have it all together.

I think, my blog, is my happy place.
A place where I can pretend to have it all together.

I'm been wondering about the quote I put on my sidebar these last couple of weeks.
I've certainly mastered the 'nobler art of leaving things undone'. That is my life: UNDONE.
No project, idea, household task, etc. ever gets done.

Sometimes I wander around my house wondering what I should be doing.
Playing with the kids? Making dinner? Doing yardwork? Planning service for somebody?
Folding my laundry that I left sitting in the washing machine?
I actually start some of these things,
and, of course, something comes up; and then they are all undone.

What are my essentials?  I've been thinking about that one a lot recently, too.
I made an essential list. I've tried working on my list, it helps a little.
Not as much wandering the house.
Now I just stare at the essential list, getting ready for the next interruption.

I've been feeling guilty recently about service: service to others, neighbors, ward members, visiting teaching, extended family, friends, etc.  It's just hard to render every service idea that comes into my mind or is impressed upon me. My house and family need service, that seems to be about all I can handle. Sister Julie Beck's recent conference talk helps, so does this Ensign article.

Can blogging be a service project? I pretend that it is.

When I need to feel a little more complete or that I've finished something,
I think about all my job titles.

Here they are with no order of importance, I just wrote them as they popped into my head:
(This list has been done by others, and I'm sure the list could go on and on)

When I think about this list, then I'm totally impressed and stand in awe.
How can any person do all of these things, and have it all together?
The funny thing about being a mom is that we actually do most of these things regularly, almost daily.

I feel better already.
It's okay if my days and lists feel undone.
